Equine Assisted Therapy for Attachment Related Trauma & Emotional Regulation
Natural Wisdom offers equine-assisted therapy to young people and adolescents who may be struggling with anxiety, emotional regulation, trauma, school avoidance, or difficulties with relationships and attachment. Sessions take place in a calm, outdoor environment where the presence of horses helps create space for connection, reflection, and emotional growth.
Working alongside horses can help young people develop confidence, emotional awareness, boundaries, and trust in ways that often feel more accessible than traditional talk-based therapy.
Equine-assisted therapy sessions are available in Cheshire and Lancashire and are suitable for young people accessing support through schools, SEN provisions, EHCP pathways, or private referrals.

Outcomes & Benefits
This service may form part of a wider therapeutic plan and can be commissioned by schools, local authorities, educational psychologists, or through private referral.
We support the wider educational, emotional, and developmental goals for young people. Sessions are designed to complement existing support plans and may contribute toward outcomes identified within EHCPs, pastoral support plans, or therapeutic interventions.
The experiential nature of the work allows young people to practise skills such as emotional regulation, communication, and boundary awareness within a structured and supported environment. These skills can then transfer into school, home, and social settings.
